Air Balance

 

Eugene Silberstein of the ESCO Institute will be our featured speaker presenting a detailed one-day presentation on air balance. All aspects of the topic will be covered. 

 

The seminar will be held on Saturday, January 26th from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Check-in and walk-in registration opens at 7:00am. It will be held at San Bernardino Valley College, Classroom B131. 

 

TESTING

 

Testing for EPA, CM, and CMS will be offered the evening prior to the event, Friday, January 25th at 6:00pm in room B131. No NATE testing this event.

If you would like to attend the board meeting, It will be held on Friday, January 25th at 6:00pm as well. For location, check in at room B131 prior to the meeting time. 

 

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

 

Since entering the HVAC industry in 1980, Eugene has taken on many roles ranging from field technician and system designer to company owner, teacher, administrator, consultant and author. He is presently the Director of Technical Education and Standards at the ESCO Institute, located in Mount Prospect, Illinois.

 

Eugene has 25 years of teaching experience and has taught air conditioning and refrigeration at many institutions including high school vocational programs, proprietary post-secondary institutions and community colleges.  In December of 2015, he retired from his tenured teaching position at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood, New York to join ESCO Group and relocate to Southern California.

 

Eugene earned his dual Bachelor’s Degree from The City College of New York (New York, NY) and his Master of Science Degree from Stony Brook University (Stony Brook, NY) where he specialized in Energy and Environmental Systems, studying renewable and sustainable energy sources such as wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and hydropower.  He earned his Certified Master HVAC/R Educator credential from HVAC Excellence and the ESCO Group in 2010. Eugene also carries ASHRAE’s BEAP credential, which classifies him as a Building Energy Assessments Professional. He is also an active member of many industry societies.

 

Eugene has served as the subject matter expert on over 15 HVAC related projects.  His most notable work is Cengage Learning’s Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology title, which is presently in its 8th Edition (2016). This book is used in over 1,000 schools both in this country and abroad to help students learn and master the skills required to service, install, design, troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R equipment. He has written many other books as well as production scripts for over 30 HVAC/R educational videos. He has also written articles for the industry’s leading newspapers, magazines and other periodicals.

 

Eugene was selected as one of the top three HVAC/R instructors in the country for the 2005/2006, 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 academic school years by Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration (ACHR) News.
